Welcome Home Jake! (In the photo that's Abe, Travis, and Jake.)
My friend Jake Belvin has been back from Iraq for a few weeks now, and we're grateful that he's back for good.
I had the good fortune to spend two of the last three weekends with Jake. We drove around and traveled and celebrated and listened to music and rode bikes and hiked and went rock climbing and spent some time with our friends: Abe, Travis, Dave, Chris, Brooke, Hilary, Russell, Valerie, Tam, Allen, and Marley. We listened to the new U2 album more than a few times and also the new Phish shows from the comeback weekend: March 6, 7, and 8. They were a great couple of weekends, and we were feeling good about Hood.
Jake will be home for a while--although he'll be living in Colorado--and I'm looking forward to traveling with him and enjoying the weather wherever it finds us.
I invite you all to check out Jake's blog. Here you can see some of the photos and writings that Jake posted while he was stationed in Iraq.
Welcome home Jake. We're glad you're back. And now some more photos from the missions.
